If only Rick had just come clean and admitted that at the age of 19 he was holding down a job as a prison correctional officer and earned an honest wage, then he might have been spared from all of this…

Nas has joined the ColorofChange.org and MoveOn.org to protest the racist antics of the Fox News Corporation. The rapper said during a speech in front of fans and the media on Wednesday, “We already knew that Fox is not a news network, they are a propaganda machine. But their racist attacks have gone way too far. Calling Michelle Obama ‘Barack’s baby mama’ - is that acceptable? Bill O’Reilly saying a ‘lynching party’ for Michelle Obama might be legit if she has the wrong political opinions. Is that acceptable? Is that flat-out racist?”   

Nas a long with protesters delievered more than 600,000 petition signatures to Fox headquarters.

I have to admit that I really like this. Jeezy is far from being a great “rapper” but I love his raspy southern drawl. And Kanye sounds good too.

I know that they both have fallen off career wise, so could they be that desperate for publicity?

“British soul singer Joss Stone is reportedly dating Amercian rapper Nelly.

The British star has been on several secret dates with the 33-year-old US rap star - who is 12 years her senior - and is said to be smitten with him.

A source revealed: “Joss and Nelly have been out on a few dates. It’s early days but Joss is really happy. It’s great that she has met someone as successful as she is and who understands the pressures of being a performer.”

For the last week or so the news that rapper Rick Ross was actually a correctional officer back in the 1990s, and not in fact a major cocaine trafficker, has been blowing up all over the Internet.

I saw the pictures of him posing in his uniform but held off from posting the news because he claimed that the pictures were photo-shopped (hmmmm) and that they were being circulated by folk who are jealous of his success in the rap world….

But reliable news source The Smoking Gun website has come up with the goods.

“Apparently desperate to distance himself from any affiliation with law enforcement, the rapper Rick Ross has recently denounced as fake photos purporting to show him in a former career as a Florida prison guard. But Department of Corrections (DoC) records show that Ross, whose raps detail the Miami gangster lifestyle and his supposed days trafficking cocaine, did, in fact, work as a correctional officer for 18 months. Ross (real name: William Leonard Roberts) was appointed a prison guard in December 1995 at a salary of $22,913.54, according to the below personnel record, which was provided to TSG by Jo Ellyn Rackleff, a DoC spokesperson. The rapper’s social security number is identical to that of the jail guard. According to the official document, Ross was earning $25,794.34 when he left the department in June 1997. After graduating from the DoC training academy, Ross was assigned to the South Florida Reception Center in Dade County (the lockup is one of three statewide that serves as an intake facility for new prisoners). When a photo of a uniform-clad Ross surfaced last week on MediaTakeOut.com, the 32-year-old performer claimed that unnamed “online hackers” put “my face when I was a teenager in high school on other peoples’ body. If this shit was real don’t you think they would have more specifics, like dates and everything?” He added, “Fake pictures are created by the fake, meant to entertain the fake.” The photo, which you can find here, shows a 19-year-old Ross at a DoC ceremony (he was part of the department’s 60th graduating class). He is pictured shaking hands with Marta Villacorta, who then headed the South Florida Reception Center. Villacorta, now the department’s South Florida regional director, was identified by Rackleff, who examined the photo Ross claims was Photo-shopped. In a recent videotaped interview, Ross replied, “No, that’s not true” when asked if he had worked as a prison guard. He claimed that the phony story was being circulated by detractors upset by his success in the rap world, where, “I came out of nowhere and just took over the streets.”

It beats me why this revelation would come as a surprise to any one. Most rappers of today are bloody liars.  

Just admit it Rick you had a legitimate job and you were earning an honest wage!!!!! It’s nothing to be a shamed of!

I just want to know whose idea it was to market Rick as a former drug kingpin rivaling the biggest names in the drug trade.

Was it Rick or Def Jam?
